What it doesn't do
- It cannot watch the video or read on-screen text overlays
- It cannot follow external links, read comments, or access linked pages
- It cannot access content from private accounts
- If a creator posted "recipe in comments" or "link in bio", the tool cannot follow those
- Stories are not supported

What TikTok link formats work?
Standard video URLs (tiktok.com/@creator/video/ID), short share links (vm.tiktok.com and vt.tiktok.com), and mobile URLs (m.tiktok.com) all work. Paste the link exactly as TikTok gives it to you.
Does it work on TikTok photo posts?
Yes. Photo carousels are handled the same way — we read the caption text and extract any recipe it contains.
What if the recipe is only spoken in the video, not in the caption?
We check the caption first. If there is no recipe there, we try the subtitle track if one is available. If the creator has no subtitles and only speaks the recipe, switch to "Paste text" mode: open the video, tap "See more" to expand the caption, copy the text, and paste it in.
Do I need a TikTok account to use this?
No. The tool reads public posts without any TikTok login. Up to five extractions a day are free without signing in to Cut Recipe either.
Does it work on private accounts?
No. The tool can only read content that is publicly visible. Posts from private accounts are not accessible.
What should I do if it returns "no recipe found"?
The caption and subtitle track did not contain anything that looks like a recipe. Try "Paste text" mode: expand the video caption, copy it, and paste it into the text box. That often works when the caption is formatted in a way the automatic read misses.
